Dr hab. Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska, prezes Urzędu Patentowego Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, odwiedziła Sofię, gdzie Urząd Patentowy Republiki Bułgarii celebrował 130 lat ochrony własności intelektualnej w kraju.

Prezes Skrzydło-Tefelska wzięła udział w zorganizowanej z tej okazji konferencji wysokiego szczebla „Innovation empowered: protect, compete, succeed”, podczas której przemówienia wygłosili m.in.: gospodarz wydarzenia – prezes Urzędu Patentowego Republiki Bułgarii Olja Dimitrowa, europejska komisarz ds. startupów, badań naukowych i innowacji Ekaterina Zachariewa (przesłanie wideo), minister gospodarki i przemysłu Bułgarii Irina Sztonowa, wiceminister kultury Bułgarii Wiktor Stojanow, a także prezes EPO Antonio Campinos, dyrektor wykonawczy EUIPO João Negrão i dyrektor Division for Transition and Developed Countries (WIPO) Habip Asan. Goście wskazywali na dorobek bułgarskich wynalazców oraz zaangażowanie bułgarskiego Urzędu we wspieranie innowacyjności w swoim kraju, ale także aktywny udział w wielu inicjatywach o charakterze międzynarodowym.

Konferencja zgromadziła przedstawicieli wielu instytucji zajmujących się ochroną praw własności przemysłowej. Dyskutowano m.in. o tym, jak firmy tworzą innowacje i wykorzystują IP, aby uzyskać przewagę konkurencyjną, a także o kulturze innowacji i potrzebie rozwoju kreatywności i podnoszenia świadomości ochrony własności przemysłowej wśród młodych pokoleń.

Wydarzeniu towarzyszyło wręczenie dyplomów i statuetek wybitnym bułgarskim innowatorom, których uhonorowano także wpisaniem do tzw. Złotej Księgi, którą bułgarski urząd prowadzi od 1981 r.

Dr hab. Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska, President of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, visited Sofia, where the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria celebrated 130 years of intellectual property protection in the country.

President Skrzydło-Tefelska took part in the high-level conference “Innovation empowered: protect, compete, succeed”, organized on this occasion. Speakers included the host of the event – President of the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria Olya Dimitrova; the European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva (video message); Bulgaria’s Minister of Economy and Industry Irina Shtonova; Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Culture Viktor Stoyanov; as well as the President of the European Patent Office, António Campinos, the Executive Director of the European Union Intellectual Property Office, João Negrão, and the Director of the Division for Transition and Developed Countries at the World Intellectual Property Organization, Habip Asan. The guests highlighted the achievements of Bulgarian inventors and the commitment of the Bulgarian Office to supporting innovation in the country, as well as its active participation in numerous international initiatives.

The conference brought together representatives of many institutions involved in the protection of industrial property rights. Discussions focused, among other things, on how companies innovate and use IP for competitive advantage, as well as on the culture of innovation and the need to foster creativity and raise awareness of industrial property protection among younger generations.

The event was accompanied by the presentation of diplomas and statuettes to outstanding Bulgarian innovators, who were also honoured by being entered into the so-called Golden Book, kept by the Bulgarian office since 1981.
